Covid Isolation Guidance (Jan 2023)
Covid Isolation Guidance (Jan 2023)
The latest advice from the government is quite vague and less prescriptive than in previous years but I wanted to share the latest with you as we head into the time of year with increasing levels of infection. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/when-to-self-isolate-and-what-to-do/
Our policy is:
- If your child tests positive for Covid they should stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 3 days. This starts from the day after they did the test.
Children and young people tend to be infectious to others for less time than adults. If they’re well and do not have a temperature after 3 days, there’s a much lower risk that they’ll pass on COVID-19 to others.
As such we ask that if your child is well enough they return to school on the morning of the fifth day after their test(or the Monday if that day is over a weekend).
We will provide work for children well enough to complete. This will usually be shared via ClassDojo before 10:30 am.
- If you test positive for Covid you should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days. The latest medical studies show that most people are no longer infectious after 7 days.
If this is the case for you and your family, there are ways that we can support you to ensure your child maintains daily attendance at school. Please contact us in this instance.
We do not have any tests available in school but they can be purchased locally
- The policy for staff in school will be the same as for adults with colleagues who test positive testing from day 5 and will be expected to return on the 7th day after their first positive test if well enough.
