Ofsted Inspections

Ofsted’s role is to make sure that organisations providing education, training and care services in England do so to a high standard for children and students.

Every week, they carry out hundreds of inspections and regulatory visits throughout England and publish the results online.

They report directly to Parliament and are independent and impartial.

The education inspection framework sets out how Ofsted will inspect state schools, further education and skills providers, non-association independent schools and registered early years settings in England.

Prior to any inspection, Ofsted will seek the views of parents and stakeholders. For schools this is done using "ParentView"
